Welcome to the website for our wedding on Saturday, July 4th 2026.
This website will be our tool throughout the next few months to help organize your trip and other aspects of our special day.
As most of you are travelling long distances, we've decided to put together information on travel destinations in Slovenia, as well as accommodation options near the wedding location in Grad Štanjel.
We hope to inspire you to spend more time in one of the most beautiful countries on Earth (Vita is rolling her eyes as I type this) and want to therefore list a few of our favorite places to explore, to visit for great food and wine, and to simply have a relaxed time.
First things first, the when and where:
Date: July 4th, 2026
Place: Castle Štanjel & Ferrari Gardens in the town of Štanjel [see map].
Weather: Štanjel is located in the wine region of Karst where summer months can get hot.
Food & Drink: The exact menu won't be set until June 2026. Nonetheless, there will be Slovenian sparkling wine, red & white wine, finger food, a four-course dinner, and so forth throughout the day.
The Wedding Day:
- The outdoor ceremony is set to begin at 4pm in the Ferrari Gardens on the far side of the hilltop. The gardens are open to all guests starting at 3pm.
- After the civil service, we will spend time together in the gardens until about 7pm at which time we walk a short distance to the stone courtyard of the castle grounds where a four course meal will be served until 10pm accompanied by local wine.
- Following dinner, we move indoors and party like there's no tomorrow with live music!
